FELT CALENDAR

Supplies:

  •  Yardstick
  •  Pencil
  • 1/4 yard of 72″ wide green felt
  •  Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • 3 white tension rods to fit your window
  • 24 3″x4″ unbleached muslin bags (we got ours from Save-on-Crafts.com, 10 for $3.50)
  • 4 bags of 2″ tall red felt numbers and letters (like Stick It, $5/bag; joann.com)
  • Small candies or treats

Ingredients:

  1. Use a yardstick to draw three 3/8″x72″ stripes of green felt. Cut out.

    2. Glue one end of felt strip to end of tension rod, wrap around length of rod, then secure at other end with glue. Depending on the size of your window, you may need to use more than one strip of felt.

    3. Adhere numbers to bags; fill with candies or treats and pull closed. Loop bags onto rods, eight per row.

    4. Space rods evenly in window, about 4″ apart. Adjust bags to space evenly along rod.

WINDOW GARLAND

  • Pinking sheers
  • 1/4 yard each of three colors of green felt
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • At least 3 yards of 1/4″ wide natural cotton piping cord (to fit around your window frame)
  1. Cut out about 35 leaf shapes from each shade of felt using pinking sheers.

    2. Lay piping on your work surface. Adhere end of leaf to piping with hot glue; let dry.

    3. Continue to add more leaves about 1″ apart, varying the colors and alternating sides of the cord as you go.
